<p><span style=background-color: transparent; class=normaltextrun>The </span><span style=background-color: transparent; class=spellingerror>DignityUSA</span><span style=background-color: transparent; class=normaltextrun> Board of Directors met in San Antonio Feb. 28-March 1. In addition to a wonderful gathering with the Dignity/San Antonio chapter for liturgy and dinner heres a short overview of what we discussed:</span><span style=background-color: transparent; class=eop> </span><span class=eop> </span></p><p class=paragraph><span class=normaltextrun><span>We fleshed out projects and ideas for our four pillars of our strategic plan: </span></span><span class=eop><span> </span></span><span></span></p><ul><li><span class=normaltextrun><span>Expanding our influence as the go-to voice for LGBTQI </span></span><span class=contextualspellingandgrammarerror><span>Catholics;</span></span><span class=eop><span> </span></span></li><li><span class=normaltextrun><span>Exploring alternative models for community and member communications and </span></span><span class=contextualspellingandgrammarerror><span>engagement;</span></span><span class=normaltextrun><span> </span></span><span class=eop><span> </span></span></li><li><span class=normaltextrun><span>Ensuring our financial sustainability; and </span></span><span class=eop><span> </span></span></li><li><span style=background-color: transparent; class=normaltextrun>Developing educational & theological resources for diverse LGBTQI & ally experiences</span><span style=background-color: transparent; class=eop> </span></li></ul><p class=paragraph></p><p class=paragraph><span class=normaltextrun><span>Just as so many nonprofits are going through the challenges of changing funding structures and shifting ways people respond to issues and groups important to them </span></span><span class=spellingerror><span>DignityUSA</span></span><span class=normaltextrun><span> is no different. Together the board developed a financial sustainability plan with both short-term and long-term funding plans integrating some different sources along with our tried & true ways. </span></span><span class=eop><span> </span></span></p><p class=paragraph></p><p class=paragraph><span class=normaltextrun><span>Among specific issues the Board worked on were the Outreach2020 conference on LGBTQ ministry at Fordham University in June the </span></span><span class=spellingerror><span>DignityUSA</span></span><span class=normaltextrun><span> Young Adult Caucus retreat in July in Indianapolis the implications of the Supreme Court taking on the case of Catholic Charities in Philadelphia refusing to place children with LGBTQI people plans for presence at Transgender confererences around the country and plans for </span></span><span class=spellingerror><span>DignityUSA</span></span><span class=normaltextrun><span> conferences in 2021 (San Diego) and 2023. The Board also adopted a new logo which captures the energy of our future vision. Look for this new look in about a month!</span></span><span class=eop><span> </span></span></p><p class=paragraph></p><p class=paragraph><span class=normaltextrun><span>We are always so grateful for your generosity of time talent and treasure.
