DignityUSA had a strong presence Outreach 2024, held at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., August 2-4. As a co-sponsor of the conference along with Dignity Washington, we were encouraged and inspired by encountering the lives and experiences of all LGBTQIA+ Catholics who were present along with their families and allies. Board President Meli Barber, incoming board member Tom Yates, Treasurer Jon Strickland, Vice President Daniel Barutta and Manager of Operations and Mission Services Darby DeJarnette were present, along with many longtime members of Dignity Washington. Here are a few highlights from the weekend:

Vice President Daniel Barutta greeted attendees at the DignityUSA table in Healy Hall.
Fr. James Martin delivers opening remarks in Dahlgren Chapel.
Sr. Jeannine Gramick prays for the community before dinner.
Outreach Executive Director Michael O'Loughlin delivers remarks after dinner.
Cardinal Wilton Gregory, Archbishop of Washington, presides over Saturday Mass.
DignityUSA President Meli Barber participates in the "Catholic LGBTQ Women and the Church" panel.
DignityUSA President Meli Barber shares her testimony at the "Catholic LGBTQ Women and the Church" panel.
Dignity/New York member and World Youth Day pilgrim Brian Frank stops by the DignityUSA table.

We are thrilled to honor the hard work that has gone into this Outreach gathering, to recognize the decades of prayerful activism that has created these spaces for Queer Catholics and to witness a new generation of LGBTQIA+ Catholics as they become thought leaders in their faith community.
