I am reaching out to parents journalists and educators. After reading and tweeting several stories on bullying gender roles and autism I think it is important to keep this conversation going. I was guided to your DignityUSA site and thought you would be interested in my new children's book Made by Raffi. I am proud of the attention and reviews it is receiving but especially the conversation that the book is generating on embracing our differences.

Inspired by a true-life incident Made by Raffi is the story of a little boy who likes to knit and sew; at first he is teased for his hobby but in the end he becomes a hero to his class. Recently released in Chinese and Korean Made by Raffi is now published in eight languages and eleven countries by UK publishers Frances Lincoln. Award-winning artist Margaret Chamberlain is the illustrator.

I wrote the book to support young boys and girls who are perceived as different because of their appearance or hobbies. It is a funny colorful book with a serious message and will interest those who care about promoting diversity and embracing our differences as well as all children seeking to fit in.

A donor has given 75 books to the Archdiocese of New York Catholic schools for all of their libraries. Made by Raffi is shortlisted for the Little Rebel Children's Book Award!

Made by Raffi is available on Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble as well as other sites around the world.
