Dignity USA Latest News

January 24, 2024 | by Ann Penick | The presence of Jesus, God’s Anointed, is an incredible gift to those who are open to this loving companionship. However, today’s reflection reminds us this gift entails responsibility. We cannot authentically accept the Divine offer of steadfast love if, in the same act of the will, we do not also commit to being that steadfast love for others.
January 10, 2024 | by DignityUSA | In an address on January 9, 2024, Pope Francis called for a global ban on the practice of surrogacy. DignityUSA cautions that this “sweeping and simplistic” approach fails to distinguish between ethical and unethical acts.
January 17, 2024 | by Thomas DeVoyd | What does it mean to be called by God? Is my heart ready for a calling that feels far beyond what I expect or believe I can accomplish? These are the questions this week’s reflection invites us to consider. And further, to recognize these calls not as possibly coming one day, but as present, and urgent, and in our midst.
January 10, 2024 | by Marianne Seggerman | A simplistic view of God’s call would have us expect a clearly worded directive telling us just what the All-Loving One would have us do. Today’s reflection reminds us, though, that the Divine call requires interpretation and understanding lest we baptize our own predilections in God-talk. It is not that Love does not call us, but rather that Love’s call must be discerned in the midst of complex lives as opposed to divorced from them.
January 3, 2024 | by Jeff Vomund | We can be so cynical about our holiday gatherings, and treat as mundane interactions that which can carry potential for an encounter with the Sacred. Today’s reflection suggests that whether we experience our own epiphanies may have less to do with God’s presence and more with the wisdom of our preparation to recognize it.
